Junior Software Developer

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and maintain backend services and APIs using Python or Java in accordance with project specifications and architectural guidelines
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle from design through testing, with emphasis on producing clean, maintainable code
• Write unit tests and integration tests for your code, ensuring high test coverage and adherence to quality standards
• Collaborate with team members in daily standups, code reviews, and sprint planning meetings to ensure seamless project execution
• Troubleshoot and resolve bugs and production issues methodically, utilizing debugging tools and logging mechanisms to identify root causes
• Document your code and system architecture to facilitate knowledge transfer and streamline future maintenance efforts
• Incorporate feedback from code reviews and senior developers into your work, steadily building expertise in best practices
• Support infrastructure updates and new version deployments across testing and production environments as needed

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent technical education and demonstrable work experience
• Strong proficiency in at least one programming language such as Python, Java, C#, or JavaScript/Node.js
• Solid understanding of core software development concepts including data structures, algorithms, and control flow
• Working knowledge of version control systems (Git) and basic understanding of CI/CD workflows and practices
• Hands-on experience with databases (SQL or NoSQL) and interaction with REST APIs and web services
• Ability to write clean, readable code that follows established style guides and industry best practices
• Strong communication and teamwork skills with openness to feedback and commitment to continuous improvement
• Preferred: experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) or containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
